Hi all,

I am about to build a new computer and have chosen the following parts:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6420
2GB Corsair TwinX XMS2 (PC2-6400)
Asus P5B-Deluxe
2 x Optiarc DVD-RW (Sata)
74GB Western Digital Raptor (Sata)
256MB Leadtek 8600GT
2 x 500GB Samsung Spinpoint (Sata)
Tagen EasyCon Series 530W Modular PSU

All of this will be cased inside an Antec NineHundred.

I want this board to be able to play hi-def (doesn't have to be HDCP) as I don't plan on using HD-DVD or content and play games such as test drive unlimited and need for speed carbon at nice settings. I have a Acer 19" wide-screen (1440x900) so games should be able to run at this speed.

I also want to be able to mirror the 2 500GB hard disks using raid 1.

Does this motherboard and components offer this?

Thanks,
Declan

The only thing I would question is why buy two DVD burners? Why not one burner, plus a cheaper DVD reader? Plus, many pure readers have lower access times than the Optiarc.

Readers range from $12-$20 on NewEgg.
