New Computer Problem

I finished building a new computer and proceeded to boot it up. At first everything appeared to be going smoothly. The video Card bios was displayed, but then nothing...no more display. And when i turn it back on it doesn't even display that. I am just curious as to what explanations anyone can come up with.

System Specks:

Abit kt7-raid mb
Thunderbird 1ghz
3d Prophet 2 Gts 64mb

You didn't say if the system was completely dead or not when you turned it back on.

Usual process - unplug system from wall socket. Remove and reseat RAM, CPU, and peripheral cards. Pay particular attention to how the video card is screwed down. If the case is a little warped, it can be pulled out of the board a little and short.

After everything is checked plug in and stand well back!😉

You did not give very much info.

What was installed when you first tried to startup? Give more specs on the system.

Always a good idea to start with just video & ram on first boot. Load other cards one at a time after that... sound, modem, nic, etc.

Much smoother and easier to pinpoint problems if you have them.
