New computer post loads windows then crashes.

I have an Amd athlon 1.67ghz processor. 1gb pc 2100 ram epox 8rda3+ MB everything post and runs fine for a few minutes then it gives me the blue screen of death and windows says it shutting down because of system failure to protect my PC. Anyone have any idea what might be causing this issue?

If you are OC'ing reset to default speed and try again. If the BSOD goes away, then you need to increase the CPU voltage to stabilize your oc'ing. If the BSOD does not go away after default speed, reduce the number of components by going to basic configuration. If it still does not go away, make sure you check for malware and viruses. Also reduce the overhead by minimizing start up programs. And finally, check for temperatures.

Faulty RAM, CPU, motherboard, power supply, video card, CD-ROM, hard drive. Corrupt Windows installation. Corrupt driver(s). Viruses. The list goes on.

You'll need to post your full system specs to get any real help. In general, you could download Ultimate Boot CD and run Memtest86 to check the RAM, do a virus scan, run a hard drive utility, etc. That would be a good start.

Definitely check the RAM first with Memtest.
As chocoruacal stated, could be any number of things, but RAM is easy to check and is a likely cause.
