New computer parts on the way- suggestions to prepare

My parts are on the way!!! Here is my current system:
Q6600 2.4ghz at 3.2ghz
4 gigs of ram
WD Raptor
Windows 7 64 bit

New system:
5670K
Z87 motherboard
Evo 212 cooler
8 gigs of ram
120 gig Samsung Evo 840 SSD
Windows 7 64 bit

Anything I need to know? Performance suggestions

I assume you are going to do a clean install.

Connect only the HD that will receive Windows. I assume the SSD in your case. Leave any others disconnected until after Windows is up and running.

A normal install will give you a tiny system reserved partition in addition to C. You can avoid that if you want with diskpart.

You might want to turn off hibernation and resize the page file after the install to save space on the SSD if you don't use hibernation.

It'll be a BIG improvement, considering you are coming from a 6600.

Make sure you have no clearance issues with that cooler overhanging the RAM slots.

Windows 7 needs very little if any tweaking for performance, but you can turn off as much eye candy as you are comfortable with.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have built around 200 computers but I thought I would ask anyway. I have not done a lot with an ssd and none with the I-5. I think my Adobe Photoshop will thank me for this upgrade!
