Both cost about the same. Around 800 bucks. I want to build a new desktop as I'm using my Macbook now and I'm tired of charging/tiny screen.

I just sold my quad to my friend because I wasn't using it, and now I miss it. :(

So now I'm thinking of building another desktop...

Stupid never ending cycle.

Oh yah, gym member ship is 3 years with 99 renewal at 24HR Fitness. Its actually around 550 for that but my budget is around 800. This is the last thing I buy myself for the next year.

All you need is a few dumbells and a pair of running shoes and you've got a gym.

All those crazy machines with weights and pullies are only for people who are serious about that sort of thing. Jogging and light weights will keep a person is decent enough shape.

Get the gym membership, get strong, beat up your friend and take back your computer. Win-win.

Pretty good friend, don't need the gym to beat him up. LOL!

Um well that price for the gym membership is actually pretty damn good, though the Costco deal for 290 for 2 years is damn good too. Only downside is Costco you can't renew. :(

*sigh*

Iono what I want to do, it all depends on tomorrow and the next day. I should be getting my investment news tomorrow to see if I'm good to go. :)

Pushups, situps, leg lifts (lying on back, lift legs in air), lunges, and squats can be done at home for free. The weights for arm curls are relatively cheap. Pullups can be done at the park at the end of a run.

You are not ready for the gym until you can regularly pump out a minimum of 25 pushups in one set for a total of 50 pushups in two or three sets. A person can tone themselves very well with the above exercises at home or at the park. A gym is used to build once a person is toned through good exercise habits.

Truth, home doesn't have other girls besides the gf to look at. :)

And any guy who says they go to the gym and NEVER look is lying, or gay...

get gym membership AND since you have $250 left, take a lookie at the hot deals (also, black friday this week) and get a 22" LCD along with a DVI adapter for your macbook.

There's still charging, but hey, it's a little bit of both!

Get a computer, bolt on a handle, a bar, and a cable pulley apparatus and you can have both.

Was thinking that, either that or doing the Costco, and getting a cheaper computer to keep it around 600...

Home does not work unless you are extremely focused. There are so many distractions at home. When you go to the gym, you go there to workout, nothing else. I know so many people who get home stuff and never touch it.

Howd they hook you into a gym membership for 3 years? That seems like a long time to commit. Just commit for 1 year and you'd still have enough scratch to get a computer maybe :)

I don't know what you're going to a gym for either, to lose weight and get lean or to lift weights and put on muscle? Both?

Get the gym membership. Save up for a month or so then use that with the ~$250 leftover and buy a computer. Get both. Computer prices, in general, decrease with time. The more you wait, the more you save.

Another thing to consider is how active you'll be at the gym? You might pay all that money and not go there by wasting a lot of money. I know a lot of people who pay the money and don't even go to the gym.

Computer - you'll actually use it.

Gym membership - you'll go a couple of times and then spend the next three years feeling guilty.

How far is the gym from where you live? If it takes any effort at all to get there, you won't go.

LOL, the gym is 5 minutes from my house. I work there now and the deal I posted is a pretty cheap price. I go to workout around 3-4 times a week and to shoot baskets 1-2. :)

New Computer. Dead lift your old computer as exercise. Carry it on your back as weight for jumping jack. Out your feet on the old computer for pushups.

I doubt that's really much of a problem.

I'd get the gym membership and buy a big LCD with the remainder.

I never understood why no one has setup a gym where the apparatus are not hooked up to a dynamo and generating power. At the very least it will save the gym electric bill.
