New Computer! Opinions?

Heya everyone, I just got myself a new system and I'd like to hear your opinions on my purchase. I'd really appreciate it.

AMD Athlon XP 1800+
Gigabyte 7VTXH DDR Motherboard
512mb DDR RAM
52x CD-ROM
40GB 7200RPM HD
NVIDIA GeForce4 64mb DDR Video
21" Flat Screen
Creative Labs SoundBlaster Audigy
Altec Lansing AVS300 + Sub
Plextor 40x/10x/40x
Linksys LNE100TX NIC
Wacom 9x12 (I'm a doodleboy!)

.. so? Should it serve me well? I'm a freelance designer.

No offense to you, but why do people always ask these questions AFTER they've bought the stuff?

Anyway, your system looks very capable, hope you enjoy it. What kind of GeForce4? 4600? I would recommend a 2nd HD, you're dumping enough money into the rest of the system that the extra convenience should be worth it.

Hey man, I appreciate you reply.

I was thinking exactly that as I was typing my post, but I purchased it on the spur of the moment. I figured that opinions after the fact are better than no opinions at all. I'm confident that the system is at least "okay", I was really just looking for comments on specific components. For example, UserX had a problem with that video card, or UserY really likes that burner.

It's an Asus GeForce4, but I don't know exactly which model ... yet.

Ok but you gotta be more specific in your list What model HD, what brand memory, CD-ROM, etc . If you say "IBM" everyone will tell you how awful they are lately

The Plextor burner is excellent, as is the Asus card, whichever one it is.

hmmm.. doesn't Geforce4 4400 & 4600 come with 128mb ram? That Asus Geforce4 sounds like a G4 MX440...

If I was you, I would change the vid card and get another hdd. Other than that.. good system

Seems like with that 21" flat screen, audigy, and speakers you should have a DVD drive instead of just CD. They're so cheap now, why not?
