New computer on the way.

Ok, so i've never really paid much attention to security...

I don't have an antivirus and i have no firewalls.


I even use a wide open WIFI connection for my internet.


Usually this causes me to reformat every few months..


Since this new comp is coming can anyone give me a list of software to keep my new computer as protected as possible?


I mean everything,,,,
