new computer on the way...any thoughts?

because it had to be under 1k i opted for 512 of 3500 RAM with the intention of getting another 512 later this year.

Any comments on the rig? things i should be aware of building it regarding parts?
 
I have the same case. For the most part its great. But be careful with the door where it connects at the top. I snapped mine. It was largely because I was an idiot though and didn't have one of the drives mounted right and it gave resistance and broke the top connection. While it was my fault it didn't take almost any force to break it. Other then that the case is great though.
 
alptraum, do you know if you can get the clear door from antec for this case? i saw it on the plus1000, but dont know if it is an accessory you can get. would be nice 🙂
 
Perfect, don;t change a thing (except get 1 gig, 2 512's if you can)

And leave the side the way it is. The clear door doesn;t have the fan over the video card the way this one does. I have two of these towers, and I also broke my door, but I don't care about that anyway.
 
Looks like a fine setup. I have the same case and adding some lighted fans really makes it look cool... Well, I have the LE version that didn't come with a ps because I wanted an even beefier one. Enermax 550W... overkill I know but I don't know what lights in stuff I'm going to add later...

I don't know. But like Mark I would stick with the normal one. Heh, I think clear cases/doors are ugly myself anyways.
 
OC. Just set it to stock, make sure it works fine for a few days, then crank it up to 210 HTT. You probably won;t get beyond that when you go to 1 gig, so might as well leave it there.
 
Mark, what would you consider good beginner OC settings for this mobo,RAM, GPU setup? i've never OC'ed before and havent had new equipment in 4 years.
 
Exactly what I said, just set the jumperfree menu HTT speed (its at the top, not sure the label, but it will say 200) to 210 from 200. I don;t recommend any voltage changes, as I don't want to risk killing my parts. OCing is not THAT important to me.....(its a free 5% boost at no risk with good memory)
