New Computer...Old Second HDD?

I just got a new Dell system, and I'm wondering how to get my old HDD out of my other machine, into the Dell, with minimal problems. I'd like to remove XP from the old drive, and just use it as storage in the new system. There is a lot of stuff on the old drive that I'd like to keep, and not bog down the new drive with all my mp3's, pics, and movies. I'm pretty naive about this, but I'm willing to experiment, read, and learn. Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance.

Just mount it up as a slave drive in your new machine. You'll still boot to your current C: drive.

If you want, you can move anything you want to save from your old drive to your new one, then format the old one and move whatever you want back to it.
