new computer NTLDR

I just got the components to build my 4th computer in the last 14 years. I have built others and repaired more than
I can count. I have:
MOBO - Aopen i865PEa-7if with a P4 3 gig 775 socket 512 mg kingston memory and Seagate 200 gig SATA HD and
a used Chaintech fx440 video a used lite-on CD burner and DVD-rom and a floppy in a new Aspire case.
All was going well until I put in the CD that came with the MoBo and it told me to pu the the Operatiing System
When I put in the XP Pro disk I get the message 'Couldn't find NTLDR" So I go another computer and try to download a
driver from Seagate but I can't find one so I call the Tech support and the guy sayes you don't need one for a
SATA drive.
I search the WWW and found similar problems but not on new installs only updates to previous working computers trying to
upgrade XP. I called tech support at the E-tailer I bought the stuff from and he said it was either a bad MoBo or
bad memory and to go buy another stick of memory. Sure I have $80 just lying around with nothing to do.
Meanwhile I found some comments about MS having a floppy disk option to load XP and found it on their site and
downloaded 6 boot disks to load with the floppy.
Now I get the error message "PXE-E61" media test fail -check cable" I do and change the floppy cable to a known working one
and change the optical drive to a known working one and test the floppy drive in another computer etc.
all with no result only the same BS.
I do have a new memory stick now but it is a PNY not a Kingston and IF the PNY works then I could RMA the Kingston
and that would be OK and if that isn't it I have a GIG of memory and a MOBO I have to return and I'm no sure
if I can use these two together.
Any ideas out there? One advise I go was to copy the drivers from the MoBo CD to a floppy to load BUT the MoBo
can't find the floppy drive. I think its a bum MoBo. Suggestions?

floppy drives die regularly.
try another floppy if one is lying around, or even a floppy drive cleaner
