is this a gaming/multimedia computer?
you could go with a lower watt power supply, something around 550-600w unless you plan on SLIing.
no SSD + storage HDD?
why the 500gb HDD? why not a 1TB?
seagate 1TB 7200.12 $50

what monitor are you using?

I can't find any performance reviews on the LOGISYS HSF, so I don't know if it's actually any better than the intel stock HSF
many recommend the cooler master hyper 212+ for people upgrading their CPU HSF

yeah ill have to look at some 1TB hdd but the solid state drive is just a hdd but faster cause it doesn't have to spin to find data?

yep, SSDs are significantly faster at small random reads and writes, though they're also faster than HDDs in general.
Since SSDs are expensive people generally buy an SSD for the OS and frequently used programs, and an HDD as a storage drive for large files and music/movies/games.
64gb SSDs and 80GB SSDs tend to be pretty cheap, and sufficiently large to fit an OS on.
if you want a few games on your OS drive though, you'll probably want to go with a 120GB+ SSD.

the SSD should make your computer more responsive, especially if you have programs open in the background during gaming (antivirus, AIM/instant messenger, etc), as these programs tend to make small reads or writes periodically. Your computer will also boot up faster with a SSD

The suggestion for a lower wattage PSU is because your computer will likely run at ~150W idle, and the 750W PSU will be less efficient at that low of a wattage
nvm the antec hcg is surprisingly good at low wattage efficiency http://www.anandtech.com/show/4258/antec-hcg-750-gaming-psu/6

the 570 should be fine for 1920x1080 (Full HD)

also fyi, anandtech forums allows you to edit your posts

the mobo seems fine
just fyi:
no IDE slots (doesn't matter unless you're planning on using old parts)
although it doesn't seem like you're going to anyway, it's not a good board for crossfire/SLI (2nd PCI-E slot runs at x4)

if you want to save some money you could go with the core i5 2500k, it's a lot cheaper for almost the same performance (unless you're video editing, folding, or 3d encoding)

benchmark comparison of 2500k and 2600k

also the K parts are for overclocking (or reselling if you plan on eventually selling the processor), if you're not overclocking the k and non-k parts perform the same
although since you don't upgrade frequently you might just want to stick with the 2600 (currently $20 cheaper) or 2600k anyway

if you have a microcenter nearby they usually have impressive deals on processor + mobo combos

if you don't mind overclocking the GPU yourself, this EVGA card has a lifetime warranty (on cards with -AR in product code) and is slightly cheaper

Overclocking our products does not void the warranty as long as there is no physical damage to the product or missing components. However EVGA Support will not be able to assist you in overclocking the product.

or you could buy their preoverclocked lifetime warranty one for $335 AMIR

amazon might have the 570 for cheaper (if you don't get charged tax)

my cousin had an EVGA 7900gt that died, and got an 8800gts 320mb as a replacement. lifetime warranty ftw :)

My main reason for thinking that getting the i7 instead of that i5 you listed was just long-term usage. As you said I dont upgrade often so I was just thinking that it'd be a better buy for this case. If i'm wrong please tell me i won't spend the extra money. Also, is the LGA 1155 cpu socket good? There are so many mobo's with this socket, but they tend to be cheaper than most of the really expensive ones.

Also, for some reason the link to my video card gave the wrong one. Not sure the difference between the two but the one i actually had in mind is here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130595

edit: the card i have shown above supposedly comes with the limited lifetime warranty from evga themselves. I just have to register the product with them within 30 days of its original purchase. I think that i'm going to downgrade and get the 2500k just for price's sake, and then upgrade the mobo to something a bit better. Any suggestions to a better mobo without upping the price past $100?
