New computer, need advice.

It's time to upgrade, but I decided to go full out and build a brand new comp. First the specs:

Case- LianLi PC60USB B
MB- Asus A7v8x with SerialATA, Firewire, 10/100mb/s LAN
CPU- AMD Athlon XP 2000+
RAM- Corsair XMS 512MB PC3200
HD- WD "Special Edition" 80GB 8MB cache
Video Card- ATI Radeon 9700Pro
CDRW- Lite-On 48x24x48
Monitor- Sony 21" CRT G520P
Cooling- Koolance Exos and CPU-200g

I'll be transferring my DVD and Santa Cruz from my current rig over also. All parts coming from Newegg except Exos which is from Plycon.

Now, the questions. CPU= 2000+ or 1800+ Thouroghbred core? I've heard of problems with A7v8x and Radeon. True? Is the WD drive worth it, or should I go Maxtor?

Any other advice on system appreciated. I've already built two (plus mods) so I'm not a complete newb. Anything missing I already have. Thanks in advance.

I would personally go with a Seagate drive but thats my personal preference. Are you gonna overclock or not? Which power supply?

Nice upgrade you have planned🙂

I suggest this case instead of the Lian Li. There's certainly nothing wrong with the Lian Li, I just think this one is better. They have several pictures and reviews from various sites. I have this case and love it.

that case seems like a lian li clone to me...but somewhat different (the knobs) ive seen a light blue one somewhat like that locally

looks like a nice case

if you plan to do any overclocking, maybe get xp2400+
how about nforce 2 board (asus a7n8x) without the onboard video

Maybe at your local Fry's? They sell them there for about $200.
