New Computer, is 166mhz good?

Should shave a few hairs off the 9hr times this computer had been getting before.
New additions are a 1.2ghz duron, a epox kt333 mobo, and 256mb of Kingmax 400mhz ddr.

I think this weekend, I'll load up a spare drive with win2k, (so I don't corrupt the drive in there) and see just how high I can get that FSB to run at.

So far seti spy is estimating a 5h10m WU. Plus I'm sure I can get the total CPU Mhz up too.
 
I can get 8 1/2 - 9 hours with my Cel 1GHz systems here at work....you should get better than that with that duron... 🙂
 
Lol, when I saw your title I was thinking a pentium 166 running at 166 fsb 🙂 Man am I messed up.

Ohhhh, i'm soo tricky... 😉

Anyway, after jumping the multiplier a few notches (the fsb didn't wanta go up much more with out the computer just rebooting for no reason. (I think I'm running about 1.35ghz now)
I'm getting 3h56m average WU times.
 
LOL, too. I first ran SETI GUI on a P200. Run times of 111 hours per WU. With that and the Corel compatibility prob I dropped out for a couple of years. Now running Athlon 1.2 @ 1.35 at 5.5-6 hrs. , a bit of an improvement.
 
111hrs! ,I take it you had the graphics showing then? 😉
I had a Pentium 166MMX@188MHz last year & that was managing about 38-40hrs/WU!,when it got the 233MMX@266 it went down to about 30.5hrs/WU ,that was with SDRAM though.

Its nice increasing your cpu speed by over 1000MHz isn't it?🙂 ,the Pentium MMX was replaced by a Duron 1.2@1.26GHz (140FSB) & I now get 4.75hrs/WU on average WU's 🙂
