Assuming that I get what I want for my birthday (Tuesday), I will be building a new computer. I'd like to order parts Tuesday morning.

The short version is that I want silence and longevity on about $800.

Usage The usual productivity stuff, web browsing, home PC applications. Some video editing/encoding in Lightworks and Handbrake. Some gaming. I will be bringing over my RX 480, so we're not talking about GPU stuff right now; however, the system should provide a good basis for gaming into the foreseeable future when I feel like spending on the necessary graphics cards. Longevity is a thing for me. I've been very glad to get as many years out of my i5 750 as I have and many of those years were really good; I don't expect 8+ years out of the CPU, but it's nice when you can get it.

Budget About $800.

Country USA. Probably buying from Newegg.

Brand. I was once bitten in the ass by Biostar and won't buy their stuff again. AMD or Intel okay.

Reusing: SSD (Samsung EVO 850 250GB); Cooler (Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO); Speakers; Graphics (Radeon RX 480); Keyboard; Mouse

Overclocking It's not important to me on principle; free performance is great, but I don't want to fiddle a bunch and I'm not paying money for 0.15 GHz; just give me whatever stable performance I can get without any headache. Also, I hate noise.

Monitor Currently 1080p, will be doubling that in the future. But the GPU is not part of this build.

Software I think I will need to buy Windows 10. I am currently running Windows 10, but I upgraded to for free from Windows 7. As far as I know, there's no inexpensive upgrade path and I will need a fresh copy of Win 10. Please correct me if there is a path that will save me money on Windows 10.

I am not committed to any of the following, but what I think I will buy:
Ryzen 5 1600X $240
ASRock Promontory B350 $90* (https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157761)
G SKILL 2 x 4GB DDR 4 3200** $85 (https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231900)
Fractal Design R5 Case $110 (https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811352048)
BitFenix Whisper M 80 550W $80 (https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817376007)
Seagate Constellation 2TB HDD $55 (https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA5AD2HW9709)
300 Mbps PCI-E Wifi card $15 (https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833389005)
Artic Silver 5 thermal compound ($6)
Windows 10 Home 64-bit $100 *fcuk*
Samsung 850 EVO 250GB (owned)
CoolerMaster 212 HyperEvo (owned)
Radeon RX 480 (owned)

$780 + shipping (~$28)

Suggestion for improvements? Things to consider? Scathing rebukes (I can take it)?

*I don't count Mail In Rebates prices because sometimes I accidentally get to busy and forget the damned things, like ASRock wants me to.
** I want 3200 speed RAM. Newegg does not list this speed for the board, but ASRock does on their site.

The new AM4 socket uses a different HSF setup then Intel does. CoolerMaster might have a bracket for the AM4, but you have ask them for it.

Other then that I don't see any red flags popping up.

I didn't trust coolermaster to have fast shipping, so I already ordered it. If I don't go with Ryzen and don't use it, that's okay (but I think Ryzen is very likely...)
