Yeah, drop the SSD and get an OS. He does get more RAM with my build. Maybe if he gets that combo for the i5/ mobo and drops the SSD he can stay on budget with my build? I guess the question is really, will he ever use 8GB RAM... <_<

I think that a ssd would be better than a 6870 at this point. They play some games, but are mostly older games such as AOE. The main use of the computer will most likely be for web browsing, downloading, ect...

I assumed that new games were the primary focus, but if they aren't then an SSD would be better.
