thanks

U dont need to do any f6, thats for raid..... Or am i wrong..... U did install the sata on the mobo right? Doesnt the mobo come with a sata driver? Just try turning it on without a disk? Does the bios recognze it?

The BIOS MUST recognize it. It doesn't matter what Windows thinks. If the BIOS does not detect it, you have some re-arranging to do... jumpers, setup, etc. If you are trying to do RAID, you need to ask yourself if you have enough manuals, RAID knowlege, and computer experience. RAID is difficult enough for experienced people. You might consider easing into it after you get the fundamentals down in your setup.

With SATA drives, you "must" have the driver disk for your sata controller, whether it be on mobo or otherwise (F6 during setup). And it must be a floppy because I guess it was too hard for M$ to allow you to load drivers off one of those new fangled "CDs". 😉
