I'm looking to design a new pc which is mainly going to be used for making banners and signs in photoshop etc with a wide format printer which takes some serious number crunching time on out 3 year old machine-any suggestions you have would be great-at this stage-keeping our relatively new hard drive and monitor and a few other bits you can get away with-im trying to do it for $500-$1000 australian

If you're building your own system I'd really suggest looking at a B75/H77 motherboard and getting an Intel E3 1230 v2 processor, it's an Intel i7 but usually can be had for quite a bit cheaper. It doesn't have integrated graphics so you'd probably want to get a cheap video card to go with it but it also runs cool and doesn't use much power. I have a Gigabyte H77MA motherboard with that processor and 4x8GB of G.Skill Ares RAM, it's great for photography stuff I do and photoshop.

If you are buying a system.....look for something with an i5 or i7 processor and a decent amount of RAM.
