Alright heres the starting lineup for the computer i'm building for college october 1st:

X-SUPERALIEN CASE [RED] with Clear 500Watt Power Supply w/ 2 Blue UV-LED Fans and 6 Blue UV-LED Case Fans
BLUE 12" COLD CATHLON FLUORESCENT LAMP
Intel Pentium 4 Processor @ 3.0GHz 800MHz FSB w/ Retail CPU Fan
WESTERN DIGITAL 80GB 7200RPM ATA100 8MB CACHE
Abit IS7 Intel Chipset 533/800MHz FSB AGP 8X Platform Mainboard w/ Audio, USB, IEEE, & SATA100
Corsair 1GB PC3200 400MHz DDR w/ Heat-Spreader
eVGA e-GeForce FX 5900 Ultra 256MB DDR AGP 8X w/ CRT, DVI, & VIVO
52x24x52 CD-RW
RED Wireless Keyboard and Mouse
Round IDE Cables
Floppy Drive

It's around $1,500 For all this plus shipping

I was going to wait for the Athlon 64 FX but I have to have this thing built by october 1st and they will be expensive as hell, buggy, and i'd rather not be a beta tester.
I read on amdmb's forum that ati is comming out with a radeon 9900 this month. Is this true? Will it be that much better then the ones out now?
Suggestions?

nice system. i would get the 120 gb hd for not too much more
no dvd rom?
i would get a 9800 pro for $300, performance difference is not worth the difference in $$$

9900 pro will prolly have a paper launch in late september/early october and be released for purchase late october/november IMO
