New computer doesn't start

Hello people, I have just bought some parts to build my new computer, but I didn't do all that very well, so I wouldn't mind getting som help..

These are the new parts that I had in when the problem occured:

Asus A7A266 mainboard Socket A
AMD Duron CPU 750Mhz
AGP Geforce 2 64MB (Starforce 8826)
CNet Network card with WOL
Seagate Barracuda 40GB hard drive
Sony Floppy
CPU cooler

I also have one 'old' cdrw/dvdplayer from samsung in that machine.

I have tested this with two monitors (that work) but it wouldn't work on that system..

I have also tried with with two other graphichscard one AGP and the other one PCI.
So I don't think it's the graphicscard..

What happens when I turn on the computer?
First processor fan starts.. the harddrive and dvd/cdrw gets checked (they both sound and the little lamp bilnks) Then nothing more than that..

I always got that ecaxt same error with the different monitors and cards..

I have had the system on default CPU-clockings and multiples and also tried to manually choose CPU-clockings and multiples..

I'm stuck and don't know what to try..
If it's broken I need to return it ASAP, if I'm doing something wrong I need help pretty fast as well..

Thanks for your time.

have you done the obvious,
reseat the cpu (take it completely out, set it in, wiggle it, close the lock, put the hsf back on)
take the ram out and try a different ram slot
and finally make sure the power cable is plugged in well
if that doesn't work see if you can get another computer to test the RAM and CPU in so u can figure out whether or not they are bad...
good luck
Josh

oh yeah a couple more things
you do have RAM right... make sure it is the right kind for the slot (cuz there are both ddr and sdr slots on that board)
and if you can hook up the speaker to see if there is a beep code (if ur case has one or you have one lying around...)
Josh

Now I have tried with only mem, cpu and mainboard..
I had to have teh memory in an other slot, then I got four beeps from the PC-speaker..
now I will have to steal this computer cables to do further testings with monitor as well..
