NEW COMPUTER CAN"T GET TO BOOT FULLY (Please Help)

So I just got all my computer parts in today. When I hit the power, it starts up normally. I am doing a dry boot using a vista 64bit dvd. On a try after letting it sit for a while, it will shut down while loading windows files. If I keep doing it with little rest period, it stays booted for shorter periods of time.

My Setup:

Abit X38 Quad GT
Q6600
2x2GB G.SKILL DDR2 PC2 8500
2 OPTICAL DRIVES: One Blu-ray not powered on start-up. One Old IDE DVD Drive.
2 Hard Drives: One Hooked up which is the WD1500 Raptor X.
Nvidia 260 GTX
Case is LC20M which has a vdf in front
PC POWER AND COOLING 610W
2 Extra fans Running besides CPU

Only One stick of Ram is in. VDF Not plugged into USB.

Any Ideas?

UPDATE: I tried unplugging the 260 GTX to take away the power consumption. Still did the same thing. It's not the power supply. Also tried unplugging the IDE DVD Drive. DID Not help.

Problem was solved after Re-seating the CPU and HSU. The CPU was overheating and caused computer to shut down. And yes the X38 can start with one ram slot populated since I just did. Dry boot means everything is new, Booting from CD and not from OS installed on HD.

Thanks for the ideas.
