New computer build soon

If you had to put a % on the overall performance boost over the old computer, what would it be? 5%, 10%...... etc.

Old computer (look in rig link below)

New computer

Cpu: Intel Core2 Duo 8400 (3.0ghz)

MB: Intel P45 (intel brand) when it's released.

Mem: 2048 Mushkin ddr2800/pc6400 4-4-4-12 (996603)

Video: Evga 9800gtx (might go 9800gtx+ if I wait a mth or so)

HD: WD Raptor 150gb

Other than that, just SB X-fi for sound and a Sony DRU840 dvd burner, Case/psu.....Building it from the ground up minus monitor, keyboard/mouse and mousepad 😉.

$1,400+ tax (already included shipping from the EGG)

You already have a core duo 2.4 GHz, so moving to 3.0 GHz won't make much difference for games and no difference at all for office apps, email web.

The video card will help a bit, especially if you wait for the GTX+.

Aisde from upgrade fever, what reasons are you thinking of doing this for?
