New Computer Build - Poor Text on LCD Monitor

RSHARPER

I just built a new computer this past weekend and am using a 17" LCD monitor that I have had for a couple of years.

Since the new build with AMD Athlon 64 2.4 GHZ PC3700+ processor, Nvidia 6800-GT 256 MB video card with 350 MHz core clock and 1000 MHz processor, and 1GB (2- 500 MB Mushkin PC 3200 DDR-400) RAM.

I had the 66.93 forceware drivers installed from the Video Card CD and replaced them with the 71.20 Forceware Drivers.

The problem is that my font on all types of text, websites, e-mail, etc. is not crisp and clear looking. I have tried all resolutions and all refresh rate combinations and this has not helped.

I see there are some newer video drivers with WHQL approvals out, but before I went chasing this ghost, I thought I'd see if someone out there might get me in the right direction.

I can provide more info if needed.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Make sure the monitor is running at the native resolution and you may try turning on "clear type", it really helps my text. Go to "display properties/appearance/effects" and set the "use the following effects to clear screen fonts" to "clear type". Hope this "clears" it up for you..🙂
