i just put together a computer for a friend of mine...

current specs are (from memory so may not be accurate)..

3.4g p4
MSI 865PE Neo2-PFISR i865PE ATX Motherboard (not EXACTLY sure of)
160gig maxtor hd
ati 9800pro w/ 128mb agp
512 pc3200 ddr ram (tested)
380wt power supply
win xp w/ sp2

when installing xp, twice it gave me an error saying it couldnt install "system" but gave me the option to retry and it continued on...

it fully installed but when it auto restarts itll load up untill it gets to the black xp loading screen with the blue bars at the bottom and then it will restart...

upon restart it will go to the "windows did not load properly" screen... ive tried every option there and still the same problem occurs...

im kinda new to this... i know a bit but not enough to get past something like the error that keeps popping up...

At what point of the installation does this message come up. Also, does the drive keep spinning (like it is trying to read the disk) when the message comes up?

it comes up at the part where you can change the time and region info...

near the begining of the last part of the install...

the drive doesnt seem like it keeps spinning...

its a new disk too...

do you have an idea about whats happening?
