New Comp won't boot up

I took the motherboard/cpu and video card out of my old comp because I was upgrading to a 7800gt. Everything was working fine when I took it out. Put it all in a new case with another stick of memory. The fans on the video card, case and the heatsink come on but it won't boot to the POST screen. I did use the heatsink as leverage to pull the mobo into the I/O shield and I am getting a noise from near the cpu sometimes right after I try to boot. Seems like it only does it on the first time I try to boot after plugging the case into the electrical outlet though. I have also tried reseating everything a few times with no luck. I tried an old video card and different stick of ram. Any one have any ideas?

Pluu the MB out of the case and try and boot with one stick of RAM, VC, CPU/HSF installed and nothing else. Try each stick of RAM individually.
Assuming teh PSU is fine and it still won't even get into the BIOS, then it's most likey the MB and/or CPU. Your best bet would then be to try a differnt MB or CPU if possible.

What PSU are you using?

Are you connecting the external power connector to the 7800GT?
I know that my PC won't even boot without my 6800GT's external power connected.

Even if you do have it connected, maybe the PSU just didn't have enough power to boot with the 7800GT installed and died trying. Is your PSU the same one that's in the Newegg pic? Dual 12V rails @25A total?

Just got home from work. The 7800gt is in another computer, I should have made that clearer. The one that won't boot has a 9600 pro in it

Please tell me this doesn't mean you used the CPU heatsink as a handle to move the mobo into position.

I don't understand. You used the attached heatsink to maneuver the motherboard back into place? If you did that, you may have damaged some cpu pins and/or socket that is causing your system to be not boot up.
