new comp, video card help

Ok here is my situation, i have the money to spend on an 8800gtx super, however the thing i am thinking of(keep in mind this will be about a $3000 system) is it worth it to get an 8800gts such as http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16814130038 and wate till the next gen cards come out then upgrade to that? or simply get a http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16814130079 now and stick with it?

First, read this article that introduces the only card you should really consider, unless you want to wait for something even newer.

Then get the EVGA 8800GT SSC Edition (clocked at 700MHz core/2000MHz memory) that will challenge/beat the 8800GTX in all but the highest resolutions for half the price.

If you really just have money to burn, wait a couple of weeks for the G92 refresh of the 8800GTS (in a 512MB version) is supposed to be released in early December.

alright thanks, one thing though, is it stable for that 8800 to run at 700mhz? that seems extremely fast compared to the others for such a cheap price

yes they are made to run at that speed and could go faster.
