Case: Antec 1080AMG w/ Truepower 430W PSU
Motherboard: Asus A7N8X Deluxe
Heatsink/Fan: TT SLK-800 or TT SK-7 w/ TT SmartFan II
CPU: Barton 2500+ Retail
Memory: (2)Micron 512MB PC3200 CAS2.5
Harddrive: Western Digital 120GB 8MB Cache, 7200RPM
DVD Drive: Lite On 16X DVD
Vid Card: ATI 9500 128MB

How does this config look? Opinions on heatsinks for the price difference?

Looks awesome :)

I would go for the SLK800 and a low speed fan, if I were you. It'll be a cool, quiet solution.

I've never heard of Micron PC3200.. perhaps Corsair, OCZ, or HyperX would be better?

Looks good! I agree with MistaTastyCakes about HSF and Ram.

which low speed fan do you prefer? not the thermaltake smartfan II then?
if a FL1A how do I wire it in to the antec case or should I run it to the Asus MB?

Go with the ThermalRight SLK-800A and get it here for $30.

I actually have this heat sink and love the easy three clip mount. I also have a ThermalTake Smart Fan II (80MM) mounted on it.

The reason I did this is because I wanted to eliminate some case fans to quiet down my system. I just use one case fan (on the back) of my Antec SX-835 case cooling an XP2000+ CPU and adjusted the smart fan to around 3000 RPM to keep the CPU temp around 42c. Ahhh, now nice and quiet. The smart fan is not the quietest on the market, I just wasn't sure what RPM speed I would need for this new heat sink and case fan (or lack of) combinations. This let me experiment with different combos. If I had to do it over again I might look into the Panaflow L1A fan.

Also I'm kinda confused on the "TT" designation in your description (maybe its just me).

The SLK-800A is made by ThermalRight, the Smart Fan II is made by ThermalTake.

Good luck!

I've never heard of Micron PC3200

Micron = Crucial.

I'd recommend a Maxtor 9 Plus HDD. 80gb w/8mb cache for around $100 or 120gb for $125 @ newegg
