Hey guys !
i am thinking about building a new computer...since my current one is being lame and is pretty old now (2 years !) right now i am running

AMD Sempron 2500+
ECS K7VTA3 V6.0 skt A
512mb DDR 333 PNY Ram
80gb Seagate Barracuda HDD
256MB Nvidia Geforce FX5500 AGP

Lately my computer has been slowing down ALOT, and when i play some games...its just not working straight, and also my HDD constantly turns on and off while the comp is on..and sometimes bios doesnt read my HD either. My proposed new build would be

AMD Athlon 64 3000+ AM2
ECS AM2 Nforce motherboard
512mb OCZ Gold DDR2 ram ( i will DEF. get another one for 1GB)
200GB Samsung HDD
256mb Nvidia Geforce 6800GS

I want this computer to run faster than my current one, especially on games, right now i get a lousy 7-15 FPS at the MOST. I hope this card will give a super edge over my current one. Also are recertified items good and what exactly are open box items...returns ?
i want to know what you guys think of this setup as i have a tight budget and right now this is the best i can do
EDIT - Right now i am only getting CPU/MB/RAM/Vid card
Thanks !

OCZ gold and AM2 don't play nice together.

What's your budget? Where will you be buying parts from?

Open Box items are returned items (non-defective).

150 - AX2 3600+ Brisbane Combo (w/ Biostar NF550 board)
100 - 7600gt
65 - 1gb ddr2-667
20 - some hsf

Hmm... can you get a bit more cash? cuz you're not far away from a superb dual core budget system. Get 512MB now, and another 512MB later, when you have more cash, if you want. That should help keep you under budget, no?
