I had these parts reccomended to me on another forum where a few people agreed with them. I figured I would come here also though to get a different view of the choices.

I checked prices on line and these are the totals, in the end i'll end up with about $600 for a LCD and a case. I might also go with a Sony DVD rom and burner instead of Lite-On.

I've had great experience with OCZ ram.

Nix the sound card. Add-in card unnecessary with the good audio built-in on those motherboards.

Probably buy the cpu on an oem basis and not as a retail kit, so you can avoid paying for the cpu cooler in the retail kit. Then buy a better cpu cooler & Arctic Silver 5 thermal interface compound to mount it. One supplier is here.
