Well, it's $79 at chiefvalue (run by newegg) , so about $10 more for this RAM vs. what you have listed. If $10 is really that big of a concern, then you need to save some more money before you build your system. Just my $.02

But what is so bad about Wintec? If I can save some money that's good. Keep in mind I'm already over my limit here. I can't order later/save money because this is what I have. It's not going to get any more because I just don't get any more to spend on a system unless I win the lottery tomorrow.

So what complains do you have about Wintec?

Besides the memory, anything else you see thats wrong or is the rest fine?

Not too sure about that ram. $34 for a GIG? I'd try to avoid it, might save you some trouble. Be sure you look in Chaintech's Qualified Vendor List to make sure you get ocmpatible ram (to save yourself some trouble) - corsair value select *should* work.

Also, if you're really interested in saving money for a $700 build: www.amd.com/techtour On one of tyheir combos, they have a great motherboard and a great cpu and windows xp 64-bit edition for $250 - you save about $150 by getting that combo.

Also, be sure you check in the Hot Deals section, possibly one of the hot deals there will give your budget some breathing room (i've seen great deals on harddrives, cases, and graphics cards recently). If your budget is really getting pushed, try downgrading to Winchester.

Hope that helps,
