Lucky. I still have TWC's crappy scientific atlanta hd box, which they destroyed with their awful firmware that looks like it was written by a group of high schoolers.

Wow, quad tuners, now that I need. We only have Time Warner around here, which I'm surewill continue to suck, so I'll stick with DirecTV

Quad tuners FTW. But will I be able to swap out my old DVR box for this and not have to worry about more charges?

Looks awesome compared to what we have right now with Comcast. Unfortunately I don't see this box rolling out for at least another year. Comcast is notoriously slow in rolling out new dvrs. Plus it sounds like there are still bugs to be worked out in the software.

I have insight in louisville, service is great, but it blows my mind that cable companies are still using the same shitty interface/menu system that has been in use for the past ten fucking years. They've added dvr to it, and pieces here and there, but the interface is the same and looks really dated....satellite wins there.

Looks like shit and it's poorly laid out.

USB cable right below the power button? Giant glowing power button? 1/4 the front is a logo and the time? Entire front glossy?

Be nice if they ever got the shit that they have now to work.
The "new upgrade" on screen guide is a giant step backwards and forget the Xfinity on demand and HBOGO crap that never works or cuts out.

Even if they EVER get that boxt they will have no one smart enough to install it or program it or explain it or even know that they have it. Of course it will be an extra upgrade charge.
NOW they just told me if I want HD without a DVR the box will be $9 a month. WTF!!

I always call my cable company up and tell them to replace my box with the new one when the newer models come out.

They're using ones now where you can DVR on one, and watch on any other box.

will you be able to have 1080p/i in other rooms and have that thing centralized?

I still prefer my set up ... 8TB of space, and 4 tuners all from one location...love windows media center.

Speaking of cable boxes, I remember the good old times when you would turn on your cable box/ dvd player /vcr player / or stereo system and it would be ready in about a second. Now all these devices take forever to turn on....

Yeah, my wife's TiVO Premiere takes damn near 12 minutes to boot from a cold start. Drives me nuts!
