New Coffee Site - Need critiques

I'm starting a coffee site aimed towards creating a community for the noob and the connoisseur alike. Just wondering if I could get some feedback. Site is still in its infancy stage.

http://www.unroastedbean.com

If you guys could also "like" the facebook page, that'd be great. This is my first website so I'd like to learn from this experience as much as possible.

My friend (and former AT member) started steepster.com and they've done rather well with a similar community-based aspect. Maybe take a look at his site and see what you can draw from it. (It's not a blog so much as a dynamic community and forum)

On a side note, how much coffee do you drink? As for me, I have probably had a couple cups of generic joe today.

Needs a logo or banner graphic of somekind

You can even just change the brown background to a slightly faded background of coffee beans

I'm not much of a coffee snob -- spoon the Caffee Verona into the cone, pour on the hot water, go away for a few minutes, add milk and raw sugar, drink.

To me it looks like a generic news aggregation site "filtered" for coffee topics, but as you say it's in its infancy so you still have time to add some unique content and a dash of personality.

Hmm. I have an instant coffee site. Maybe we can trade links or something. Mine might just remain a made for adsense site though.

I am intrigued. PM me your site.

I just took a look at my site and it probably wouldn't be a good time to link to my site. What happened was I stopped working on all my projects when I started playing bad company 2. I had been working on my instant coffee site and moved it to hostgator and apparently it didn't keep the privacy setting I had for the wordpress blog. I only had 2 pages of content but it still has a serp 4 for it's keywords. I wanted to add in another 3 pages of content and then pay someone on fiverr to spin/submit an article to a bunch of article directories. Since it's an exact match domain it should would hopefully be serp 1.

The panda update made it harder to run a made for adsense site but it still seems to work, you just need more backlinks and they have to be diverse. Once I build the site up maybe we can trade links. The reciprocal links don't really help your pagerank but it'll help you look more like an authority site. If you use twiends you can pick up a bunch of twitter followers. Most of them will be junk but you'll still get a small amount of traffic from the site.

It needs a forum to encourage the community aspect.

Going to work on this ASAP.

Yea I see what youre saying. A majority of the "news" and "health" isnt too unique. But the review section will definitely have our own spin to it.

What's a 'made for adsense' site?
