New chip in mobo and screen not loading!

Ok, so i had a 2.66 p4 chip in my PC, and certain events have taken place so that chip is now out of the picture. Now i took the 1.7 p4 chip from a old computer and and have inserted it in the mobo, they are the same socket types so i asumed it would be compatible. When i turn the computer on the fans and HDDs are spinning, but there is no display on the moniter and no system beeps. I have a SY-P4S-645DX DRAGON Ultra mobo and the 1.7 p4 is out of a old computer so i dont know much about it, i have a new PC now and i just want this one for storage. I have tried reseting the CMOS, if there is any light some one can shed on the situation it would be fantastic, or if someone can tell me this just will not work that would be great to. (i am sure its not a video card problem b/c i have tested it in another computer)
