outside is ugly, but nice interior. I laughed though when i saw the paddle shifters. On a corolla? Come on.

Mazda3: 87,341

Yeah, it'll have no problem here in the US

Those dumb Euro pedestrian crash standards sure ruin the front end. The hood bulges a few inches too high.

Other than that it looks great! Definitely a mini-Camry. I hope this is close to the US version.

1) I think it looks good, and slightly better than the current one.
2) but it still looks bland and boring, compare to the Mazda 3; but I'd place this above a Civic or the new Sentra.
3) Interior is classy, as noted above
4) What happened to that "Altris" thing that claimed was the new Corolla????

When you guys say it's ugly.. what are you comparing it with? Other econobox cars in it's class? A ferrari? A yugo?
Someone please put it perspective for me, because it looks pretty darn nice to me, compared to other econoboxes that is.

Compared with a Mazda 3, meh. Compared with the new Civic, this thing looks hot.

You know your typical ATOT car thread. They love to compare apples to oranges.

I just got back from a 2 day 750 mile roadtrip in a rental Corrola. Not bad, but definately not good for that many miles. It was fun to drive in traffic and around town, though.

I was disappointed that the thing only got 31.5MPG (80MPH, mostly rural interstate highway). I had a 99 4cyl Camry w/90 k miles that did better than that.

At a rest stop, I talked to a Jetta TDI owner from Colorado. She told me she gets 40-45MPG in the mountains running ~75mph! The economics dont work (way more $$ for the car and fuel). I was amazed how much the two cars looked alike (same color). Very similar lines

I think it looks like a mini Camry.

I would like to see it in a 2-door coupe version though.

Definitely mini Camry. I guess that's a better thing, because the "new" Camry design continues to grow on me, and will keep doing so up until my parents buy one.

Looks like a bigger version of the Yaris and a smaller version of the Camry.

Rather take a Civic or Mazda 3 over it.

*edit*:

By the way, doesn't the interior look a bit like the Mazda 3's?
