IE I dont want the samsung phone for $400, thats a phone, mp3 player, navigational gps system, and microwave oven.

While I agree CDMA phones lag behind GSM features wise as a a technology CDMA is far more advanced than GSM. GSM is just now catching up to CDMA in areas such as data speed. BTW, I don't see any GSM providers offering any sort of direct-connect service.

i have big hands and its a decent sized phone. to me, its not too big to put in a pocket or anything like that. volumes are loud - ringer, earpiece, and speakerphone. nice big screen too.
if you get it through verizon, there are no games on it. you have to pay to get some.
several features are disabled by verizon also, like bluetooth. there are hacks out there to enable this stuff and it is pretty easy. i did it to my phone.
