So I've gotta break yet another link to my old parent dependant days and get my own cell phone plan. Currently under a family plan with my dad, he extended his 2 years but I'm free to go anytime.

Now I was under the impression that unlimited web/data plans were at least 100 bucks (iphone) but if I'm looking at it correctly (which is unlikely since they make it as confusing as possible) it looks like Verizon has an unlimited plan for only 69.99?

Now I wouldn't get the web and all that crap for 100, but if its 70 then I would probably do it seeing as how it would only be 20 bucks more than to have just text messaging.

Everyone has verizon and they have the best service so I'd prefer to stay with them... just wish they had the damn palm pre....

The 69.99 connect plan allows me to browse unlimited right?

450min??? You must really never talk on the phone. If you want the Pre get on Sprint. You get more for your money with them.

zerocool84, its 450 minutes + unlimited N&W + unlimited calling to other Verizon customers. Its really not that little. However you're right - the Sprint plan is better. For the same price, you get nights starting at 7pm instead of 9pm and you get some extra features included, like GPS navigation and more data/video content.

That's why I go with Sprint. My service is great and I can roam on Verizon's towers as well and pay less and get more.

Sooo with Verizon I could only choose dumb phones as bonkers put it, but with Sprint they gave me the option of the Palm Pre and other smart phones with the everything data plan... does that mean I can do normal web surfing on with the Sprint package?

Sprint's plans you do normal web browsing and get GPS/Music Premier/TV Premier/NFL Mobile Live/ NASCAR Sprint Cup Mobile. Also if you go into a store if your job qualifies you could get a good discount or at least say you're a Credit Union member, they didn't check for me, but no discounts on the everything plan.

If you go to Sprint get the EPRP plan. 50 more minutes for a total of 500 for ten dollars less, $59.99. A 1000 minutes is $79.99.

You can get discounts on everthing plans just not the unlimited minute plan or EPRP plan.

Yeah it looks like I definitely want to go with sprint but it doesn't look so easy to get the EPRP plan anymore. I'm open to ideas on how to get it though. Even without it, you really do get so much more than verizon, hopefully their service doesn't suck balls like tmobile's did.

I work for a state college, so there is a chance I can get a discount... going through the process to check now.

thanks for the help so far!

Link on how to get EPRP on-line

Keep in mind to get EPRP you must either be a new customer or an existing SERO customer. If you are a current subscriber with a normal line you cannot currently get an EPRP plan. Personally I have the $110 EPRP family plan. I compared it to AT&T and Verizon, they were both right at $200.

Sprint sucked enough for me to get rid of them after six months. I had Verizon for years, and thought it would be worth it to save some money. Needless to say I'm back with Verizon and enjoying the wonders of knowledgeable CSRs and no ridiculous waits when I have to go into the store.
