New CD-R/DVD? Or keep old one?

I am building a new system in a couple of weeks. I am getting almost everything new, but I am wondering whether I should keep my current DVD/Cd-RW or if I should get a new one...

I currently own the Toshiba SD-R1002 DVD/CD-RW combo drive. It works fine, but the speeds are a little slow by today's standards. 4x4x4x24

I only rarely burn CD-R's... If I am interested in anything, it would be the DVD-RW drives, but those are a little pricey yet.

So... Is it worth upgrading the drive now, or should I just wait for DVD-RW drives to come down in price?

Thanks!

If you don't burn cd's that often and are happy with the speed of the burner now at 4x then why bother upgrading?
It will be faster and more reliable with the burnproof tech but why waste extra money if you don't have to?

Kind of what I figured too...

Would this drive have any problems with ATA133?

If you want to upgrade a DVD Writer... go for Pioneer DVR-104MA DVD-R/RW CD-R/RW Writer that will cost you less than US $ 350
