@ anyone who's downloaded them: do they have the new control panel ATI's been promising for a while?

We actually really shouldn't call this Catalyst 4.7, it's just a newer build released after the 4.6 release from ATI, station-drivers.com leaked them onto the web.

OpenGL *was* improved in 4.6, I don't know if that was considered a "full re-write" or not...

They are faster but not as fast as the 3.9 so just use the 3.9 atioglxx.dll
It works just fine Im not sure why they rewrite it. Probably fixes for oddball games.

Actually they *claimed* performance gains but in many cases they were actually slower than older drivers. Also the claims themselves were only very small percentages so no, 4.6 was definitely not a rewrite.

i disagree because i did see a significant improvement in NWN, which is probably the most nvidia-biased OGL
game out there. benchmarked, of course...

could have just been an improvement for that game in particular though. is it safe to strip the OGL from cat3.9 and stick it into the windows system directory to test it out?

I've seen a few other people claiming slower performance in NWN.

Should be OK.
