Konami released their schedule for the first 6 months of next year and the greatest franchise of all time is on there...Castlevania! It is going to be on the PS2 and will be released in April/May of 2002. If they have any brains they will keep the game in 2D and make it like SoTN except longer! If anyone says they want to see this game in 3-D I will request that the mods ban you!

Cool

I still love those side scrolling games.

Such as Super Mario and those shooters like Gradius (I belive is the name)

I know mos 3-D games are just amazing and beatiful to behold but still gotta go old school.

The same team that worked on SoTN is doing this game. So that is a good sign.

The best thing about the CV series is the music hands down. I have every CV song ripped and burned and can often be found blasting it in my car.

Seriously those Castlevania games for the N64 sucked so bad, Castlevania was meant for 2d side scrolling and nothing more. Hopefully they are smart and make it like SoTN, I would love to see a sequel to SoTN or another game with Simon but they'll probably bring in another Belmont or use the guy from the GBA version.

SoTN is PS1 right?

I have got to get my hands on it.

I would but big bucks it will be some lavish 3D job.

Yeah, SOTN is PS1. Best Castlevania game out there. If you don't have a ps1, however, you can still use an emulator! ;)

I agree it should be 2D but in this world of everything going 3d they'll probably kill another game. Anyone played 3D lemmings? MAN THEY SUCKED. What about 3D packman? God no.

Holy crap, this game brings back a lot of memories. I use to spend so much time at the arcade.

Hola all, long time reader of the Hot Deals forum; figured it was about time I get in here.

Remember when Contra was made 3D in the very start of the PSX's life? That proved how the old side-scrolling classics should not *ever* be made 3D.

Fans of SoTN, I like what I've played of Castlevania: Circle of the Moon on Game Boy Advance. Feels just like SotN.:)

I have played through SOTN countless times and the GBA version is a classic, but Castlevania II:Simons Quest is probably still my favorite title in the series. I haven?t played it in years but I have memories staying up on school nights paying this game. If the new version is a 3D game, I probably will not even pick it up. I unfortunately did buy the N64 installment and that is a mistake I will not make again.
