New case

Hey I want to get a new case. Im looking at either the Stacker 832 or Antec P182. I use to not like cases with door on them but i want to try to reduce the amount of intake when to comes to dust. I wanted to know if the mesh on the stackers can be taken off? Also i know they moved the motherboard tray in a little on the 182 so you can hide wires behind the motherboard so because the stacker has lots of space and the antec has larger space in the back and with the newer cut out hole added i will be better able to manage my cables. Just wondering which of the 2 cases you all like better and why? (I know the 182 isnt out yet but it the same as the 180 with the adjustment i mentioned)

Best way to keep the dust out (IMO of course) is to create a positive pressure cooling environment.

IAC, those two cases are apples and oranges. One is for quietude and generally reasonable performance level systems, the other is for max performance systems w/o too much concern over noise. The 832 is practically as open as the original - the door on the 832 won't be keeping hardly any dust out or noise in.

So you'll need to decide which category you want and pick a short list of cases from within that.

I still think the original Stacker (STC-T01) is the best of the Stackers for a max performance case - and that circle on the left side is just about the right size for mounting a 250mm fan (performance-pcs.com) which is the only one you would need for creating a pos. pressure environment in it - a trio or quartet of 120mm fans is another option. The only other fan you'll need is the low and slow one that comes with each HDD cage to keep a slight breeze on the HDDs.

Im looking for 3 things

1 Case that i like the way it looks
2 Keeping temp down
3 cable management( i suck at it but this time im going to make a more agressive effort)

Sounds from a pc dont really bother me although the lower the noise the better(havent had one that was that loud)
I like the way both the stacker and p182/p180 in black

Silverstone Temjin TJ-09 @ HEXUS.net

At idle the Temjin TJ-09 managed to wipe the floor when compared to the Stacker 830 from Cooler Master, but the Thermaltake Eureka did give it a run for its money in a couple of readings.

Under load the TJ-09 really started to shine. The GPU reading was a whole four degree better than the nearest competition and, evidently, it seems that the graphics cooling solution comes into its own under load; not surprising considering its spin rate is controlled by the motherboard.

The internal case temperature continued to impress, especially over the Stacker 830. This fact is surprising (which seems to be the watchword here) when you consider the number of meshed areas that chassis has.

..enough said. 😎

Did they use the standard fan configuration? If they did, everyone knows that the OEM fans that come with Stackers are wimpy and automatically replace them with Yate Loons or stronger. So what's the point?

Sure it's a nice case, but the original Stacker with but a smidge of fan upgrades could equal the Temjin 9 at about half the price.

but then, the geeks need their e-PeePees...
