Here's the situation. I have had a Sony Vaio RX462DS PC for over 5 years now. It's pretty old, and I want to upgrade it soon. However, I don't have the cash to spend $1000 or so on a totally new PC. What I want to do is get a new case and PSU, as a first step, and because the current one has gotten very noisy. I think the noise is mostly the PSU fan, but it's hard to tell.
So my question is will I be able to fit the motherboard in a new case like a Lian-Li? I can see that it is attached to the current case with little plastic things through the holes on the board. I have never built a PC, and I was wondering if the screws to attach the motherboard come with the case or the motherboard itself. I assume that the motherboard layout is standard, so provided I have the screws I could attach it to a new case. Also, I assume that a standard PSU will work with the mobo.
Any advice or info is appreciated.
