I have a
ENLIGHT 7237/3 MIDDLE TOWER W/300W ATX POWER SUPPLY
case for my Pentium III. I know that to upgrade to a P4, a new case is needed. This I want to avoid. So, does anyone know if a new case will be needed for a 1.4 Ghz Athlon?
never own that specific case model before--but the only thing you need to upgrade for P4 is your powersupply not the case for most people. For athlon..let's see since this cpu is one hot cpu--you will need a very good airflow inside your case. Second is if your PS has enough juice to power the whole system with athlon cpu installed (300W should suffice if it's a good PS).
Just open up your case --how crowded is inside your case right now? all cables tucked away neatly to provide more airflow? messy case make it prone to heat problems.
but-the main point is if you dont plant to overclock your athlon-your current case prolly will sufficient enough provided you make your inside case neat and clean.
