Hiya all,
Im remodeling my bathrooms and was at Lowes and Home Depot, when I saw something that gave me an idea.
I saw a mini fridge on sale for about $89.00 or so, it was very small and I was thinking..geesh cant even fit a 12pack in there, then it hit me...hmmm that would make a kick ass case!
With the right mods I wouldnt even need fans and it would be mostly silent.

I thought about condensation and moding a protective case around the mobo, it would be kind of like throwing your tower into the refridgerator.

Then I thought maybe I can just get the rigging from the reefer unit and mod that into a 'cold plate' that sits underneath my rig with an intake cut into my case with a pipe that leads into my case from the 'cold plate'. Maybe try to 'shrink' down a cars AC unit.

And also thought about putting vents into the bottom of case, adding a slide out filter over the vents, and building a rack (like track lighting) that you can slide in 3-4 (pending case size) 120mm fans. This Fan Rack could sit in the bottom of my case drawing air from below and pushing it up over all my slots and mobo..seems to be more efficient than the 2 80s I have now.

Anyways a few ideas. Fire away :p

This has been mentioned before. The problem is that fridge's are not meant to run all the time. If it ran all the time or too constantly, the motor would burn up easily. With the comp producing so much heat so rapidly and frequently, the fridge's motor wouldn't last very long.

You're going to have alot of heat in a very small place without anywhere for it to go. The thing about a fridge is they don't get rid of heat they just cool it and via insulation keep it cool. If you add something that is constantly putting out heat you're going to have one hot fridge and a burnt out compresser. Think of it as putting a heater inside your fridge. Its not a good idea.
