I am upgrading to an athlon XP and will be getting a new case/power supply, I am considering the antec plus 880/1080 (don?t really need 10 bays but the extra fan is nice and the actual size is not that different), as well as the pre-modded cheiftec on newegg (CHIEFTEC Server Chasis (Aluminum Workstation Tower with Plastic Front Cover) Silver w/acrylic window Color; Plastic Front Panel, AMD Approved Power Supply Front Accessible: 4 x 5.25", 2 x 3.5", Internal: 4 x 3.5". Power Supply: Turbo Link (P4) 420 watts ATX 12V- w/ 2 Case Fans Compare to Antec SX1040 and Save Weights Only 18LBs! Model#: DX-01SLD SPX2). The case window and paint job is nice but not necessary, the real reason I am looking at it is the machine will be used at school so I have to move it back and forth and it ways about 10 pounds less then the antec. I plan on upgrading to an clawhammer, next summer (or whenever the price is reasonable) and want to make sure that whatever case and power supply I get now will be able to work with it, I am assuming that a 400wat power supply is going to be necessary, though it may be overkill, and my problem with the cheiftec is the power supply, is it good enough, quite, how long will it last etc... Also if anyone can recommend a good aluminum case with a solid power supply for around $150 that could also work. Thanks for the advice.

Other components for the machine
gainward geforce 3 powerpack (last year)
Hauppauge wintv pvr
60 gig 7200 rpm maxtor
20 gig ibm 75gxp
pioneer 103 (dvdr/rw)
possibly another burner
512pc 2100 (all from my current system, actualy I am upgrading 2 systems at once and moving the parts around which is why I can justify going from an athlon 1.4 to an XP)
nforce 2 based motherboard
