new case fan config help.

Getting a new case for xmas. I was curious on how to plug the fans in. i have a z170 msi board which has 3 motherboard headers for case fans. I could use those for the 3 fans that will be in the case. Is this a bad idea to use all 3 motherboard fan headers? Is there a better way i should be connecting them thats less worry? thanks
 
That's what motherboard fan headers are there for: To connect fans to them. There's nothing to worry about, and powering three fans off a motherboard is nothing power wise. Just connect them and make sure they spin up. You can read your motherboard manual and configure how fast they run in your BIOS.
 
Don't worry about it - there's no such thing as a stupid question, and it's always better to ask if you're unsure. Everybody has to start somewhere. As UsandThem said, using every single fan connector is no problem at all. Heck, you could probably get away with using splitters and powering 2-3 fans per header if they aren't too power hungry (although that much airflow is completely unnecessary for the vast majority of builds). Most normal low/midrange rpm case fans use miniscule amounts of power. Don't worry about it.

Yeah -- just as Valantar says. Usually the spec for a board allows for up to 1 Amp @ 12V for each fan port -- certainly if all such ports are used. At most for any various fan deployments, you'll use fans rated at 0.30A or less each. That would mean you could probably run and control three fans from each port and monitor one of the set.
