I'm looking to downgrade size and quantity of my system and looking to bounce some ideas of of people.

Currently I have a Cooler Master Stacker 810 with 2 internal HDD Cages (both have 2x 500GB WD..AAKS HDDs.) and a 300GB Velociraptor. 8GB (4x2GB), 8800GT 512MB Zalman edition, and Q6700 w/ CNPS9700 cooler.

I'm going to be ditching the CM Stacker, 4x 500GB HDDs (and HighPoint RAID card), and the 8800GT.

I'll be keeping the Velociraptor, adding in a 1TB HDD, and ATI HD4890 1GB, and I am looking at the Rosewill Blackbone

There are also 2 optical drives coming over (LG BR drive and LG DVD-R/W), but those don't seem to pose an issue.
CNPS9700 LED

Do you think everything will fit? It looks like the CNPS9700 should fit with literally like an Inch to spare, and the HD4890 should fit as well.

Thoughts?

I want a quiet simple case, and it needs to be under 17" tall, so I'm also open to ideas.

Antec P180/183/etc. Absolutely fantastic case for silence. You should also consider the 5770 unless you're going to replace the 4890 soon too. The 4890 is a faster card but doesn't support DX11 (I don't know whether or not that will be relevant to you).

I did look at the P180 originally, but it's actually too tall. It need to be under 17" to fit under the desk. No real other place for it to go...

I thought about the 5770 alot and decided on the capabilities of the 4890 and chose that. DX11 is just coming into play, so the 4890 will tide me over for 1yr+.

Thanks for your input. :)

Hmmm...

Under 17'' is tougher than I thought haha. The only other silent case that came to mind was the NZXT Whisper, but that sits at a elephant height of 20''. Could take a saw and just saw off the roof :D. Perhaps www.silentpcreview.com may have some suggestions? You might be looking at mATX forms for that size...There's a micro ATX version of the P180 on the egg...
