In my quest to build a true silent PC (file server) I accidently killed my beloved Geforce 4 4400Ti.

I'm looking for something to replace it with. It will not be gaming (but will be called upon to run some game servers)

1) Can be purchased and Delivered in Europe
2) Can run games 10x7
3) 128mb texture memory
4) Not fussed about fan as I've a Zalman to replace with
6) Cheap
7) Cheap

I've then got the hassle of creating an account, shipping, insurance, garentee of working, etc.

I'd prefer to give money to a retail store where I know I'll have manufactures warrentee and a leg to stand on if it falls over

That's very scary I first purchased my card for £360 (bought on day of release, many, many years ago)

Dude you got ripped off then.
The Ti4600 was like £300 and I got my Ti4400 about a month after release for £220 or so.

Cheapest 9600 regular seems to be £60, which woul doffer more power I think, but obviously it's more expensive.
256MB 9600XT's can be found for $100, but the Ti4400 @ £40 is a good deal if you're not a hardcore gamer.
(Ebuyerfor fairly cheapr prices on other cards)

My bad - I didn't realise the 5200's were soo bad.

I've benn concentrating more on the 'lastest' hardware after a two year break from building, researching, etc.

If what you are saying is true - then I'll stick with a tried and tested 4Ti

I would definitely stick with the Ti. I still have my brother on a Gainward 64mb and the thing is a beast, for the older games he plays. The lowest move up from a Ti is the 9700 Pro, and look at how those retained their value. I'm having a hard time seling my 9700 Pro, but I really should.

Grab an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB and overclock it to 9800 XT speeds. They can be had for as little as 82 British Pounds.:)

The PC is a no no-nonsence, always on, file/game server, it will be running stuff @10x7 with no effects, AA or AF turned on:

AMD 1.7 @1.44
MSI KT4v
G4 4400Ti (Just Died)
512 PC 2700
2x 300Gb Maxtor DiamondMax

GPU replacement will be £30-40 max.

I could get away with the 4mb crappy, no idea what make, PCI, crappy card but I need something a BIT better when running game servers.

I think the 4200Ti (8xAGP) will be an OK replacement for the 4400Ti (4xAGP).

My main rig is listed below for heavy app's (ie: games)
