new card-new drivers?

I currently have a x600xt with the latest drivers (5.10). I am considering upgrading to a x800xl or gto. If I do than can I just plug and play my new card using the currently installed drivers or is it necessary to reinstall them?
 
I dunno if you should upgrade or not. I just upgraded from a 9800 Pro to an 800XL, and downloaded ccc 5.10 and I am getting VPU recovery errors all over the place. I kind of wish I could have continued using my 9800 Pro. I never had any problems with that or its drivers.
