I've been looking for a Miata, and I found a pretty good deal on this 94. My brother and I stopped by, looked at it. It was fully loaded, in good condition. Only a few scratches here and there, but expected for a 10 year old car. Drove great, and we liked it.

Technically it isn't mine yet, we told him we were interested, and gave him a $500 deposit to hold it for us. We're doing a CarFax tonight, and my father (whom is a mechanic) will come up with us another day to check it out before we finalize everything. I talked to my father already, he seemed fine with it from the details we told him, but he needs to check it out first. I'm 99% sure we're going to buy it.

I'm coming from a 97 Saturn, so I am moving to an older car with more miles, but I"m okay with it. Miatas are fun to drive, and reliable. I expect to have lots of fun driving and autocrossing it whenever I can.

Well, its not the 10AE I've dreamed about. But considering I can't afford one, this one is fine :).

Congrats on the deal, but miatas have always seen a little small and femine to me.

Haha, yes, I understand the "Girly Image" i'll get... but I'm not worried about it.

This car, aside from its lack of power, is everything I'd want in a car. Its loaded, convertible, RWD, stick, and FUN. It has tons of potential as far as mods go.

yeah...i guess you better get used to driving a "stick" if you drive a miata.

Haha, sorry, an IS300 is a tad bit out of my price range. Wanna trade one for my Miata? ;)

That's a nice fun little car :D

Ignore all the usual comments about how it's for gay people or women, etc. It's a fun car! It's RWD, manual, and a convertible. Those three are a good combintation in my book, the more power it has, even higher it goes up :D

I know exactly what I'm hopping into as far as comments and all that, and it really doesn't bother me one bit. It does have a "girly image" about it, but I'm secure enough to not let it bother me. Sounds like you and I have the same priorities for our cars! I dunno if I'm going to mod it any, though there are plenty of options available if I want some more power :).

I'm very excited moving from my boring Econobox to this Miata. I can't wait to take it out for a nice spin! I gotta break in those new tires he got for it ;).

Keep in mind that if you do mod it, it doesn't have to be for power.

Have you taken any advanced driving courses? Maybe one of those would help you learn about handling your car so much that you actually feel a need for more power than just a faster 0-60. A car can only be as fast as the driver :D

Keep in mind that if you do mod it, it doesn't have to be for power.

Yep, you're completely right. Miata has tons of potential and aftermarket everywhere. Suspension, engine, and appearance... I'm so very tempted to mod it out... but I'm so broke ;). We'll have to see. I might just keep it stock and get some race tires for it so I can still compete in stock class when I autocross.

As far as taking advanced driving courses, I've been to about three Evolution Performance Schools events, and I've done a few Autocross events as well. I've had plenty of seat time (espically with those schools, what a fun event).

EDIT: All those autocross events were done in my Understeer-crazy Saturn, so its going to be quite different than a Miata, but I have had some driving training.

hahah gather all the people that scream "girly car", take em to a local autox event and proceeed to rip em a new one... those things handle on rails!

Very nice car. Ignore the haters. They'd rather sit in their boring FWD econoboxes like tC, civic coupe, Celica, etc and pretend like they got a sportscar than drive a real sportscar like a Miata.

i dunno why but miatas expecially ones with the hardtops have always reminded me of jelly beans...jellybeans with wheels.....

Yeah, I'm not too fond of the Tan either, but at least its not the ALL TAN interior which is hideous. I can live with this two tone.

But think about it... if it was all black... the car would look awfully funky with a triple black exterior/interior/top. I think the tan matches the black quite well. It gives a bit more flavor.

lol. you're probably right. I saw a red with a faded tan interior when I was looking for mine and god it was ugly!
