I'm looking into getting a new car in a few months. Nothing tooo exciting, but I want the beat I can get for what I have. I won't have much of a down payment, and can only really afford around $250/month. Any ideas?

I paid $3500 down on my Accord EX (4-cylinder) inclusive of all taxes and charges...and now I pay $176/month inclusive of all scheduled maintenance (all my servicing for the 3 years/45,000 miles on my lease is paid for.) Was a damn good deal on the outgoing 2002 model...and if your dealer still has '02s in stock they would probably offer the same. $3500 is a steep downpayment though...

Got my wife a 02 Mazda Protegé ES 0 down and 0 % intrest without the 6/100000 warrenty would pay only 267.00
a month, but for an extra $20.00 got the better warrenty and life time oil changes.

not to bad I think.

yea... you have to be more specific on how many months you want to be paying that much. I'm seeing that you are looking to get a $10000~$20000 car?

What are you looking for in a car? Speed? Reliability? Japanese car? Aftermarket? Luxury?

I personally think if you don't care about what people think at ALL... Kia/Hyundai may actually be a good choice because they offer a 10 yr warranty. If you want speed... Civic/Corolla/Protege won't cut it. If you want reliability Ford ain't gonna do it... so basically I'm just saying.. you can't just throw some money and say.. ok what should I get? because YOUR need is different from ours.

Sorry, I willprobably be paying for it for 4-5 years. I want a car that isn't going to make me feel embarased, but speed isn't the issue. I am going for my PhD, so hopefully in 5 years I can replace the car with a better one. So Idon't need a 10 year warrenty... but that's ok, I hate fords, so I shoudl have said that in the begining, lol! (no offense, it''s prior experiences)

I'd say go for a 1997-2001 honda prelude, or maybe a 2000-2002 Nissan Maxima (might be pushing it) :D
