Got a new car a week ago... just getting around to posting pictures.
Got the 2.5L with CVT... yeah, I know... should've got the 3.5 with a manual transmission. I'm enjoying it. My first brand new car. :D

Eventually I'll take some better photos somewhere besides my driveway. :D

**Update**

Apparently someone doesn't like Nissan and thought it would be a good idea to damage someone's car.

I'm actually happy I didn't catch who did it because I'd probably be in jail right now from beating them to death.

What looks like scratches above the dent is actually grass... /shrug

***Update***

Got a letter from Nissan today in reference to the rattling noise I've noticed upon start and constant low RPM. They say it's a heat shield on the exhaust manifold and in the next 60 days they'll be sending me more information on when I can get it fixed under warranty.

****Update****

20,000+ miles and approaching 2 years later. I just checked my mileage the other day when I filled up and I'm getting just over 30 mpg with the same driving habits as described before.

The valve train noise when cold has gotten worse, but the dealer continues to say it's not a problem. My lease ends in Dec. 2010 so before then I may get a second and third opinion on the valve train noise and possibly force them to do warranty work on it.

The CVT has proven reliable and convenient so far. I injured my left knee over the winter... if I had gone with the manual I wouldn't have been able to drive for a good 3 months.

The 2.5 still has the same pep that it had when I bought the car... though to be fair 20,000 miles on a modern engine is not a significant amount of mileage. The exhaust note has changed slightly... it has a slightly more raspy crisp note to it where as when it was new it was a lower rumble... no sharp sounds at all.

Thanks... I've been thinking the same thing the more I look at the pictures. Lots of sidewall there. In person they appear to fit the car better.

2.5 will be plenty, better on gas anyway.

Parents picked up the 3.5L sedan with manumatic and it's fun to drive :)
My mom was in the back when i was driving and i was using the manual shift and reving high...she asked if i was ruining her fuel economy...i told her no :D

I have a manual civic coupe and it's pretty fun to drive, even though it's gutless.

Ew. Lots of sidewall fits my Toyota Tundra, not a sporty coupe. Low profile FTW.

Yep, this coupe badly needs some low pro tires.

Plus thinner, five-spoke rims.

Just avoid potholes and harsh roads.

congratulations on the new car!

Looks great congrats.

I hadn't seen a pic of one until recently, I think Nissan did a good job on the styling.

Keep us updated. I'm interested in how it is as a daily driver, what kind of mileage you get real world, etc.

SO I take it you're member of the hard breaking crowd or do you just not care.

I'm getting 28-29 mpg with under 1000 miles on it. A mix of highway and city driving.

It's great so far. Like I said, I'm really enjoying it. The steering is tight and responsive. The suspension is stiff, as should be expected from a sporty coupe with "sport tuned suspension."

Some criticisms of it... the cruise control doesn't keep as constant a speed as I would expect from a new car. It can vary by 3-4 mph.
When in park, it's a little difficult to get CD's out of the forward center console compartment... the shifter gets in the way. You can't grab the whole stack and take them out, have to grab 2-3 at a time.
For a sporty coupe, the exhaust is pretty quiet. They could open it up a little more to give it a stronger sound at WOT without making it too loud/ricey.
The seats are VERY comfortable... they could use more lateral support though.

Anything else anyone would like to know specifically?

*EDIT* Oh by the way... torque steer is almost non-existent. Nissan did a wonderful job with that.

how much? $23 OTD?

Yeah, just about... with the convenience package. Not much room for bargaining either... not like they have to try to sell these cars. Some dealers can't even get Coupes to sell. If you're looking to get a deal, your best bet is asking for some dealer installed extras. Wheel locks and aluminum kick-plates, for example, like I did. They also didn't seem too hesitant to give me 5 extra free oil changes, for a total of 7 free oil changes.

The Altima Coupe is high on my list of cars to look at when I shop in a year or 2. Great choice!!

Sweet ride. Torque steer shouldn't be that bad (i.e. nonexistent), this isn't the 3.5 pushing 270HP to the front wheels. Not knocking on you BTW, I would rather get the 2.5 myself.

Well, looking at your mileage, my 3.5L Altima gets 25-27mpg, so I guess the difference isn't too big.

I think the biggest change I had to get used to was the CVT. Not being able to coast down hills and actually having to push on the accelerator to go the speed limit down a hill feels really weird and I'd assume it will negate a decent amount of the bonus mileage you get from the CVT's constant "gear changing."

Congrats on the car.

Lol you're not going to see torque steer with the 2.5.

Try the 3.5 or any car with 270+ HP to the front wheels and you'll get some torque steer.
